April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. Ross is among only a handful of female players of beach volleyball who have done so. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside April Ross Tokyo in order to claim her third gold medal over the next few days. Ross hopes to win her Olympic the first medal of gold, but she is also aiming to earn even more. At 39 and has a long way to go, this could be her final chance. Her confidence is high, however. Ross was mentioned by NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very best, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. "I'm planning to test some luck." Ross, who was born 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began playing sports at Newport Harbor High School. Ross played in numerous sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball along with basketball, running and track. But she clearly was an edge over the other players in the latter sport. According to her biography, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter on the volleyball court throughout her time in high school. Thanks to her hard work she was awarded in 1999 as the Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. She also won her the Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross is playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017, but Ross's beach game had been established long before this. In actual, Ross has won several major tournaments in her career with two partners. One is a volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, from 2007 to 2013. She also worked with Klineman as well as herself. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who took home the title of world champion with Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the an international level. They were awarded a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were defeated for the gold by the legendary team comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). It was fate that had them. Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The pair went on to earn the beach volleyball bronze in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross began her collegiate career with the USC Trojans following her high school days. It was a long time before Ross hit the sand and turned pro. Her time at USC was a memorable one. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year when she was a teen freshman. The Trojans were also able to get to the Final Four with her help. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss in her sophomore, yet was successful in achieving the All-American award. The last two years as a member of the Trojans in the program the team was led to success by winning two the national title in consecutive years. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the US according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross played international relations as a student at USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to watch her daughter's rise to beach volleyball fame. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year in USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. As a result, Ross is still close to her deceased parent. Margie, on the beach as well as in everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
